transcendental times

On Sunday I woke up in a completely snow-covered, magical England. When I opened my curtains I was amazed by the thick layer of snow, the first time this (school) year.

At dusk we decided to go to the old church and cemetery in town.

The growing darkness and snowy scene intensified the ghostly and mysterious atmosphere of the place. So beautiful.

Afterwards we went to a coffee bar in town.
We had time, since we already knew school was cancelled the next day.

Luxembourg

I celebrated New Year's Eve in Rue de l'Avenir in Luxembourg. It was the first time I visited Luxemburg. The old part of the city, which you can see in the second photograph, is so cute, like a city made out of toys. Luxembourg also has a pretty good museum of modern art, called 'Mudam'. Luxembourg city is definitely worth a visit.

The Ardennes

When I was still in Belgium, I went on a trip to The Ardennes, one of my favourite places in Belgium. Not so far away, but I always feel in a completely different place.

I hope to one day shoot a short film here.

WIELS

Oh how I love those big, white art museum spaces. Just the thought of walking along these quiet, usually almost completely empty rooms makes me excited to visit one. If you are in Brussels one day and you enjoy contemporary art, I recommend you to visit Wiels. Besides, from the top of the building you can get a nice view over the city.

se promener dans la rue de l'avenir

I imagine starting a new year like walking through a white space with nothing else than emptiness and openness. I find the idea of starting over with a blank page always so appealing that I definitely welcome two thousand thirteen.

What are your New Year's resolutions? One of mine is to blog more often. If there is something you would like to see more on this blog, let me know.

Happy New Year everyone!
