Some of my last snapshots capturing my life in England.
An empty room, on our last day.
A tube station in London, my refuge all year long.
And the fridge in our dorm kitchen.

I close this chapter now.

Friday 14 June 2013

During the last couple of days I have changed the layout of my blog a bit.
Have a look at the new 'about'-page and the division between 'labels' and 'categories'.
From now on all posts will be divided in one of the 3 'labels' and/or one of the 4 'categories'.

The labels are textstill (image) and moving (image).
The categories are diary (the posts documenting everyday life), travel (for all kinds of trips), report (about exhibitions I have seen, attended events...) and creation (for... things I created, works with concepts etc)

Voil, hopefully it makes sense! Have a great week-end!

end of year show

Yesterday I went to the opening of our end-of-year show where my short film is part of. My year as a pre-degree student in England is over now, but I am more than ready to move on. I got accepted at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent where I will be studying film next year. But first of all, it's time to make summer plans!

all film shots are part of my short film /
the work in the middle is by my friend sara,
who is also in an art competition right now.
'like' her work here on facebook and help her win!

dreamscape

when you are stuck in a dreamscape
and you are turning your head slowly in the direction of the trees
and the trees' branches are swaying in the wind
but the trees are not seen as trees anymore
because you can look right through them now
as if they have become transparent

but at the same time
they have never been clearer before

29 rvl

I started with a bit of everything, and I ended up doing nothing. That could be the story of this blog. But it is not, as I recently have made up my mind. I want to get rid of the lifestyle/fashion part of this blog. This blog will become my personal image journal (image in the sense of a photograph, poem, text, video) and a way of release for thoughts.

transcendental times

On Sunday I woke up in a completely snow-covered, magical England. When I opened my curtains I was amazed by the thick layer of snow, the first time this (school) year.

At dusk we decided to go to the old church and cemetery in town.

The growing darkness and snowy scene intensified the ghostly and mysterious atmosphere of the place. So beautiful.

Afterwards we went to a coffee bar in town.
We had time, since we already knew school was cancelled the next day.

Luxembourg

I celebrated New Year's Eve in Rue de l'Avenir in Luxembourg. It was the first time I visited Luxemburg. The old part of the city, which you can see in the second photograph, is so cute, like a city made out of toys. Luxembourg also has a pretty good museum of modern art, called 'Mudam'. Luxembourg city is definitely worth a visit.

The Ardennes

When I was still in Belgium, I went on a trip to The Ardennes, one of my favourite places in Belgium. Not so far away, but I always feel in a completely different place.

I hope to one day shoot a short film here.

WIELS

Oh how I love those big, white art museum spaces. Just the thought of walking along these quiet, usually almost completely empty rooms makes me excited to visit one. If you are in Brussels one day and you enjoy contemporary art, I recommend you to visit Wiels. Besides, from the top of the building you can get a nice view over the city.
